Public Bank Bhd, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd and Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd posted higher quarterly profits, showing resilience despite a tougher operating environment.
Public Bank’s second-quarter net profit rose 3.7 per cent to RM1.82 billion, supported by stronger non-interest income.
Alliance Bank recorded the strongest growth, with first-quarter net profit jumping 25 per cent to RM248.3 million on lower credit-loss allowances.
Bank Islam’s second-quarter net profit increased 9.8 per cent to RM139.1 million, driven by higher net income and lower overheads.
The lenders remained cautious on global risks while continuing to invest in growth, technology and digitalisation.
