Thirty years after Tupac Shakur’s killing, a Las Vegas jury has found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of first‑degree murder.
Davis, 63, a former Los Angeles gang leader, was accused of ordering the September 1996 shooting after a casino brawl involving his nephew and Shakur’s entourage.
Prosecutors said Davis armed his crew, handed over the gun, and directed the attack from a white Cadillac that pulled alongside Shakur’s BMW.
Shakur, in Las Vegas for a Mike Tyson fight, was shot multiple times and died six days later.
Death Row Records co‑founder Suge Knight, who was driving, was wounded.
Prosecutor Binu Palal told jurors Davis “could not let that stand” in gang culture, framing the killing as retaliation.
Davis is the only surviving occupant of the Cadillac and the only person charged in the case, long considered one of America’s most notorious cold cases.
He faces life in prison without parole and has vowed to appeal. Sentencing is set for October 13.
