Psychiatrists see mental health cases every single day and yet training on the role hormones play in them still isn't embedded in psychiatry. PMDD has been documented as a hormonal condition since the 1950s, so this isn't new science, it's a training gap.

Psychiatrists need to be taught to recognise cyclical patterns in symptoms and to feel confident prescribing hormone treatment rather than defaulting to antidepressants and antipsychotics.
