At Embedded World 2025, @TexasInstruments showcased a Bluetooth-based smart lock system powered by Channel Sounding – an advanced distance-measuring technique introduced in Bluetooth 6.
How it works:
Using the TI CC2755 chip and phase-based ranging, the system measures the distance between your phone and the lock with less than 50cm accuracy — unlocking only when you're close enough. Unlike traditional RSSI-based systems, this method is far more precise and secure.
Perfect for:
👉Smart home entry systems
👉Inventory & asset tracking
👉Hands-free building access
⚡ Bonus: TI’s new on-chip APU (Algorithm Processing Unit) reduces latency and power consumption, enabling faster and more efficient ranging – without an external host.
