We continue our van life journey through the south of France, starting in Fontaine de Vaucluse, a stunning village built around one of the world’s most powerful natural springs. Beautiful, but the heat and campsite tensions meant it was time to move on.
Next up was Roussillon, famous for its red and orange cliffs. It looked incredible, but the crowds and over-tourism made it feel too chaotic for us, so we didn’t stay.
We then found a quieter free aire near Bonnieux, which was much more peaceful despite the 35°C heat. A much-needed slowdown after a busy couple of stops.
After a rough night with early roadworks, we made one final move to Apt, settling at a lakeside camping car park with electric hookup—perfect for cooling down and resetting.
A mix of stunning places, tough heat, busy tourist spots, and quiet hidden stops—all with Doris along for the ride.
