Protein is not the problem.
Low protein is.
When protein intake drops, metabolic demand drops with it. Muscle signaling weakens. Thyroid conversion slows. The body becomes more conservative.

At the same time, dietary fat is very easy to store when intake exceeds demand.

Low protein plus high fat shifts you toward storage instead of capacity.

This is not about demonizing fat. Fat is a lever.
But protein builds capacity.
