This film contains silent footage documenting Project NIMROD (Northern Illinois Meteorological Research on Downbursts), conducted in the greater Chicago area in 1978. The film depicts NCAR staff setting up the two C-band Doppler radars used in this field project: the CP-3 radar at the Yorkville, Illinois field site, and the CP-4 radar near O'Hare International Airport.
