I'm restoring an old (released in 1988) Kyosho Double Dare. The gearboxes and suspension are in great condition and I've already taken it apart and inspected everything. Tires are in fantastic shape which is great.
The body is a mess and was painted on the outside with a green paint so I think I will just get a repro body for it, but the chassis is running now. It was missing alot so I had to make copies and 3D print until I can get hold og genuine parts. I need the chassis lid, a pair of shocks, a shock tower, the servo mounts, the steering link and mounts, the rear bumper, one intake mesh and the roll bar lights. I found some parts on Ebay and will look out for the rest. I fabricated a new steering link from 4 mm piano wire so it's working fine with the 3D printed parts.
The mechanical speed controller is in good condition but I hate running with them as the throttle delay is so annoying. If I shelf it then I'll install the MSC again. Maybe I'll put it in there as a dummy while running it.
I'm uploading the 3D printable parts on my Cults page when I make more and more parts: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/kyosho-double-dare-and-usa-1-vintage-monster-truck-parts
