Rebecca Usherwood is Assistant Professor in the department of Classics at Trinity College Dublin. Her research focuses on imperial ideology and how it was understood by those who lived in the Roman empire. She has published especially on the emperors Diocletian and Constantine, including a book, Political Memory and the Constantinian Dynasty, which traces the ways in which emperors might be understood as ‘disgraced’ after they had been overthrown. She also works as a historical consultant for film and the museum sector, and was advisor for the Sky TV series ‘Domina’, which aired from 2021 to 2023. In this public talk, she discusses her experience working as an advisor for the TV series.
