On the occasion of Mr. Kishore Mariwala's first death anniversary, his son Ravi and daughter-in-law Paula organised a concert featuring Priya Purushothaman who is a disciple of Aditi Upadhya, the daughter of Pt. Dinkar Kaikini of the Agra gharana, both of whom have very close ties with the Mariwala family.
Priya began her recital with the expansive Raag Miyan Ki Todi, an Agra gharana staple. She performed two traditional compositions called “Bat Dubar Bhayi" and "Ab Mori Naiyyan Paar Karo" and ended the piece with a traditional tarana.
She was accompanied by Swapnil Bhise on tabla and Sudhanshu Gharpure on harmonium. Tanpura support was provided by Priya's student Sowmya Bhat and her "guru bahan" Tatsavi Sampath.
