Mukul Kulkarni is a senior disciple of the late Pt. Sharad Sathe and Pt. Arun Kashalkar. He performed for the third chapter of the First Edition Arts-curated Synergy series held at the Bangalore International Centre. This concert was entitled "Reflections - Celebrating A Musical Journey with My Gurus", where Mukul sang compositions he learnt from his gurus.
Mukul began his recital with two bandishes and a tarana in Raag Purvi. He opened with "Charan Paarasat" (Tilwada), a composition that he learnt from the late Pt. Sharad Sathe and concluded with "Saawre Man Laage" in teentaal followed by a Drut Tarana, both composed by the great Pt. Arolkarbuwa.
He was accompanied by Sagar Bharatraj on tabla and Vyasmurthi Katti on harmonium. Tanpura support was provided by Sarang Phagre and Mayur Sakri.
