Before he starred in Westerns and became known as "The Durango Kid", Charles Starrett (March 28, 1903 - March 22, 1986) appeared in over 20 pre-code films, comedies, dramas, action-adventures, etc. With his athletic build and chiseled good looks, Starrett was an effective leading man or second lead, depending on if he was appearing in a top production or a B film. I'm sure he made many hearts flutter, and he was one of 18 people who helped organize The Screen Actors Guild. Starrett never forgot the adoration of his fans, and after retiring from show business, traveled extensively with his wife, corresponding with fans, and sometimes attended conventions. The song is, "I'm With You (Right Or Wrong) performed by Midge Williams and Teddy Wilson and his Orchestra, recorded in 1936.
