Today he is remembered mostly for being the father of Elizabeth Montgomery (1933 - 1995), but Robert Montgomery (1904 - 1981) began his acting career on stage before he was signed by MGM in 1929. His pre-code career saw him portraying high society types, playboys, businessmen and the occasional ne'er do well. He later successful broadened his range and moved into directing and later, producing television, one of the first Hollywood actors to make that transition. Here he is with his boyishly handsome good looks and charm; he also sang in a few early musicals. Song "Easy To Love", performed by Billie Holiday, recorded in 1936. Enjoy!
