Portal is a puzzle platform game done by Valve Corporation in 2007. In this game, you must solve a series of puzzles by teleporting using a "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device" that can create a portal between two flat planes. The main concept is based on the freeware game Narbacular Drop, which was developed by Nuclear Monkey Software in 2005. After Valve got interest in their work, the whole team got hired in order to make Portal.
