Porsche has transformed the 911 GT2 RS into an incredible modern slantnose inspired by the legendary 935/78 “Moby Dick” race car. The one-off Porsche 911 GT2 Flachbau RS combines 700 horsepower, reduced weight and extreme Manthey-developed aerodynamics.
Created through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program for a single customer, the Flachbau RS took approximately 3 years to develop. Porsche redesigned the front fenders, headlights, bumpers, aerodynamic components and massive rear wing while keeping the car road legal.
The familiar round Porsche 911 headlights are replaced by ultra-thin vertical light elements, giving the GT2 RS a dramatically lower appearance. Grand Prix White paint, exposed carbon fiber and styling inspired by the Porsche 935 connect this modern creation directly to Porsche’s racing history.
The changes are more than cosmetic. The Flachbau RS is nearly 70 pounds lighter than a GT2 RS with the Weissach Package, while its adjustable rear wing can help generate around 1,221 pounds of rear downforce at approximately 211 miles per hour.
Power still comes from the GT2 RS twin turbocharged 3.8 liter flat 6 producing 700 horsepower and 553 pound feet of torque. Porsche even tested the one-off machine for approximately 50 laps around the Nürburgring.
Would you choose this modern Flachbau RS over the standard Porsche 911 GT2 RS? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to like the video and subscribe to DPCcars for more Porsche news, supercars and upcoming performance vehicles.
