After going through four controllers or in this case the all in one unit, I finally decided to protect the unit from the sun, and it’s resulted in them lasting twice as long. This is my second house with a salt pool and whether it hangs on the wall or it’s plumbed in line the first thing to go is the screen and the buttons. Some brands do sell a replacement screen, however, it’s far easier to just protect it from the elements. In this video, I replace the top on a cover I built two years ago. I thought it was a great idea. Everyone that sees it thinks it’s a great idea. They sell them in pool stores, but they’re very expensive and made out of molded plastic like a little igloo. This one you can build very cheap or in this case the piece of starboard was around $70 but it’ll last a very long time. Anyway, hope you enjoy this video!
