Learn how I used the Flushmaster motor two-port to install a Salt Away applicator and completely automate my boat motor flushing routine. The system provides a 10-minute freshwater flush followed by a 5-minute Salt Away flush, all automatically. It takes the hassle out of flushing after every trip and makes it much easier to protect your engine from saltwater buildup.
🚤 Flushmaster With Salt Away Applicator – Automatic Boat Motor Flushing!
If you own a boat with an outboard motor, you probably already know that flushing the motor after being in saltwater is one of those jobs you’re supposed to do every time you come back in.
The problem? Sometimes you just don't feel like doing it. 😅
You get back from being on the water, you’re tired, you want to clean up the boat, put everything away, and the last thing you want to do is stand there flushing the motor.
Then you tell yourself, “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
And sometimes tomorrow never comes.
That’s exactly why I came up with this Flushmaster and Salt Away applicator setup.
In this video, I show you how I utilized the motor two-port to plumb in a Salt Away applicator and create an automatic 15-minute flushing routine for a single motor.
The system is set up to provide approximately 10 minutes of freshwater flushing, followed by 5 minutes of Salt Away flushing, all automatically.
⏱️ 15 minutes, completely automated.
Once it's set up, it's basically set it and forget it.
And honestly, that's the biggest advantage of this whole setup.
Instead of having to remember to flush the motor manually every time I return from the water, I can simply hook everything up and let the system do the work.
🚤 How the Automatic Flush Works:
💧 10-minute freshwater flush
The first stage provides a freshwater flush to help rinse the motor and remove saltwater and residue.
🧴 5-minute Salt Away flush
The second stage introduces Salt Away for an additional flush designed to help deal with salt and corrosion-related buildup.
⚙️ Automatic operation
The entire process happens automatically, so there’s no need to stand around and manually switch everything over.
🔥 Set it and forget it!
This setup has already solved one of my biggest problems: actually remembering to flush the motor every time I come back in.
Because let's be honest, if a maintenance job is annoying enough, there's always a temptation to put it off.
I’ve done exactly that.
I’ll come back in and think, “I’ll flush the motor tomorrow.” Then the next day comes, I'm busy, and suddenly I never get around to it.
With this system, the process is so easy that there’s really no excuse anymore.
And yes, part of the reason I like it is because it’s cool. 😂 But more importantly, it makes an important maintenance job incredibly simple.
