The overwhelming majority of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael voters do not support a future coalition with Sinn Féin.
The latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks asked voters their preference on coalition partners in a future government.
Fianna Fáil voters resoundingly rejected any possible coalition with Sinn Féin, with only 4pc of their voters saying the parties should go into government together.
No Fine Gael voters believed Sinn Féin was an acceptable partner, with 93pc saying leadership should not do a deal with Mary Lou McDonald’s party and 7pc staying neutral.
