Body Cam Video Of Police Catching Them With a Gun On Party Boat.
On July 4, 2024, Police Officer Specialists from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) were on water patrol north of the Palm Valley Bridge. Police body cam footage captured the incident, showing that at approximately 1725 hours, the officers observed an off-white Seminole vessel towing individuals on a tube without a life jacket.
As Police officers approached the vessel, the body cam footage captured the smell of MJ. None of the vessel’s occupants admitted to smoking or possessing MJ. Police body cam footage shows the officers informing the occupants that they would search the vessel for MJ. At this point, one occupant disclosed that he had MJ on board.
The Police directed the individual to retrieve the MJ. Police body cam footage captures the individual producing a cigarillo-style bag labeled "Wild Hemp," which contained loose MJ and two rolling papers. Further examination of the vessel, as seen on police body cam footage, led to the discovery of an identical bag containing two rolled items, which the individual also claimed possession of.
The contents of the cigarillo bag were field-tested, confirmed by police body cam footage, and yielded a positive result for MJ. Police body cam footage further captured the officers reviewing the individual's criminal history, which showed previous charges for possession of cannabis under 20 grams on March 18, 2024, and possession of a controlled substance on November 12, 2020. Based on the body cam evidence, police charged the individual with one misdemeanor for possession of cannabis less than 20 grams.
