Bodycam footage captures the moment Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers stop a vessel after observing the captain recklessly operating the boat’s motor dangerously close to swimmers. Concerned for public safety, the officers initiate a stop to assess the situation further. After making contact with the captain, they decide to conduct Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) to determine if impairment is a factor. The captain struggles through the tests, performing poorly enough that the officers place him under arrest on suspicion of Boating Under the Influence (BUI).

Officers had [REDACTED] board his vessel to administer a portable breath test (PBT) to see if he was operating a vessel above the .02 threshold. [REDACTED] provided 2 breaths below .02 and then returned to his vessel.
While Officers were conducting the PBT on [REDACTED], The other officer gathered all the adult beverages that were on the vessel and put it onto theirs.
