The MPGD Challenge stands for Max Pokédex Gym Delay Challenge. The rules are simple: Max out your Pokédex before beating the next required gym. This includes Pokémon 'seen' and Pokémon 'caught'. To get an idea of the difficulty of the challenge, imagine fighting wild Caterpies, Metapods, and Pidgeys in Viridian Forest until you level up Squirtle to evolve into Blastoise before fighting Brock.
Glitches, Trading, or any means to obtain Pokémon not directly using the Gameboy Cartridge such as Pokémon Stadium are not allowed. For the complete description of rules, click the link below:

I stream the entire challenge live over the course of multiple days. You can follow me on twitch and watch the completion of the challenge live at:

MPGD Challenge for Pokémon Yellow - Elite Four
Even though the Elite Four isn't technically a gym, I still decided to include it as a milestone for this challenge because it's a major part of the game. After the 8 badges, Moltres is the only new Pokemon that can be caught. Additionally, Jynx and Gengar can be seen from Lorelei and Agatha. In total, 127 Pokémon are possible to catch and 145 Pokémon are possible to see before beating the Elite Four!
