Video for Cosmo.

Advancing the metagame like it's 2009.

On the Zelda IRC I was mentioning my recent endeavors with doing non pause-buffered skulltula clips into high water in botw for early chus. After around 3 hours of first attempting the glitch, I got to about 40% accuracy. Cosmo told me how much difficulty he's had trying to get accurate at this glitch and wanted a video from me to prove my accuracy. He told me to make a video pulling off 8 out of 20 attempts at the glitch. I decided that was weak and I went for 8 out of 15 to break the 50% accuracy mark.

Now to discuss the actual glitch:

For those unaware what is going on in the video, I'm doing a special kind of clip to land in the OoB high water in the botw so it's possible to swim directly to the bombchu chest without touching ground. Instead of going to the chest, I fall into the void so I quickly do the clip again; however, I swim towards it to prove I am in fact in high water and if I were to swim to the right instead of the left, I would land by the chest.

There are two differences between this clip and the clip that lands in low water or on the ground. One, there is a specific part of the wall you clip from to land in the OoB high water. Two, this clip is frame perfect. The reason why it is difficult to execute this glitch with any sort of accuracy is the fact it is frame perfect. If you do the Skulltula Clip closer to the center of the climbable wall, you get two frames to execute the glitch. Additionally, the timing to clip into high water is far different from a clip closer to the center. For this reason, if you have been clipping to just land OoB, it will be very difficult to adjust your timing to land in High Water. For that reason -- and including myself -- it is difficult to get accurate at this trick. However, with enough practice and concentration, it's possible to become accurate at this glitch.

One more thing: it does not matter at what distance on the Y-axis you actually clip through the wall since you and the Skulltula fall at the same speed and as long as you're at the correct distance on the X-axis, you'll land in the high water.

And one last thing, I do not count the attempt where I do not get hit by the skulltula. I began the setup in an awkward position you'd not normally start in so that attempt was doomed before it began. Normally you will do the glitch immediately after coming from the Deadhand room, not after falling in a void, returning, and drinking milk.

Well I hope I didn't completely agitate you with all that text. I know it was heavy lingo and a lot to grasp, but it sums up the video nicely. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to ask me. I promise to answer them.

Oh, one final thing, two days ago, (as in on August 16th) I bought a Diamond VC600 which is a streaming device that will stream in supposedly exceptionally high quality. I plan on streaming plenty of OoT including MST practice runs and Bingo races. So now my streaming will actually be good quality -- as opposed to that of an EasyCap -- and will be tolerable.

So follow me on Justin.tv and watch me stream some time. I'll have the chatbox open from now on so I'll talk to you guys as well as play OoT. My Justin.tv name is BrianMp16. Hope to see you guys there!
