The MPGD Challenge stands for Max Pokédex Gym Delay Challenge. The rules are simple: Max out your Pokédex before beating the next required gym. This includes Pokémon 'seen' and Pokémon 'caught'. To get an idea of the difficulty of the challenge, imagine fighting wild Caterpies, Metapods, and Pidgeys in Viridian Forest until you level up Squirtle to evolve into Blastoise before fighting Brock.
Glitches, Trading, or any means to obtain Pokémon not directly using the Gameboy Cartridge such as Pokémon Stadium are not allowed. For the complete description of rules, click the link below:

MPGD Challenge for Pokémon Yellow - Badges 6, 7, 8:
After Erika, only one new Pokémon, Articuno, became available to catch and see. Regardless of which badge is obtained now, all will result in the same number of Pokémon caught and seen in the Pokédex. For this reason, these three badges are simply combined into one set.
In total, 126 Pokémon are possible to catch and 142 Pokémon are possible to see before obtaining the 6th Badge!
The following Pokémon were obtained before the 6th Badge:
