After the events at Phenac City, I have problems with the scooter as I try to investigate the desert. Then I get an email from Nett, where we find out about a missing Pokémon that was on the S.S. Libra, and in order to upgrade the scooter, I have to find Makan, who is visiting Dr. Kaminko's house, which means yet another battle with Chobin.

When you leave Phenac City and travel to the desert to investigate what Cipher is up to, but our wheels get stuck in the sand, so we get sent back to Phenac City, and right after that, Nett sends us an email about a missing Pokémon on the S.S. Libra, so it is back to Pyrite Town and visit the ONBS building.
When you arrive at the top floor of ONBS, you find out from the old man that his granddaughter's Pokémon is missing, and we learn that the Pokémon is called Bonsly, which at the time of this game's release is a Pokémon from an upcoming generation, it is the pre-evolved form of Sudowoodo. Then Nett suggests that we visit Perr with the scooter upgrade.
Next stop is Gateon Part, and when you visit the Parts Shop, we watch TV where Secc gives us a news report on when we beat Snattle at Phenac Stadium, and that Cipher is back once again after five years.
When you leave the Parts Shop to find Makan, who is at Dr. Kaminko's house, we meet up with Mr. Verich and his bodyguards, who board a cruiser, and the captain refuses to let us pass and that not even a Rattata can get past him.
Next place to visit is Dr. Kaminko's house, which means another battle with Chobin, he has a Sunkern and Gyarados, you will want something with an Electric-type move to beat Gyarados, and Sunkern shouldn't be too hard. His team have their basic level up moves, but you do have to watch out for Gyarados's Thrash.
After the battle, Chobin demands for a rematch, and then Dr. Kaminko comes and suggests that Chobin use "it" to drive away the burglar. Talk to Kaminko, and it turns out that he was referring to the Robo Groudon, which is a robotic machine controlled by Chobin, and we have to battle him again, his Sunkern has evolved into Sunflora and he has added a Hoppip and Tropius to his team. His Sunflora can use Sunny Day to activate the Chlorophyll Ability for his Grass-types, and his Hoppip can inflict status conditions.
After the battle, Chobin will finally recognize the player, and Kaminko is shocked to learn that the "burglar" was an acquaintance of Chobin, and calls the Robo Groudon a failure, and scraps work on the Robo Kyogre that he was working on, and Chobin does get to keep the Robo Groudon after all.
After receiving Chobin's P☆DA number, we can then enter Kaminko's house, and we can collect some Battle CDs, the first one is Battle CD 05, which is in the crane room, this on the right side of the house. We then find Jovi's diary in one of the item boxes, and there is a door in the left room which leads to an elevator to where Makan is, and he is working on the Robo Kyogre.
Then it is back to Gateon Port and our scooter has been upgraded, which means we can now travel across the desert. We can find some more Battle CDs, Battle CD 11 is in the crane room, and Battle CD 23 is in the basement where the Robo Kyogre was, and you do have to battle Chobin yet again with the same team he had when we took on his Robo Groudon. After collecting the Battle CDs, next time we can put our new scooter to use to see what is in the middle of the desert.
