The wait is finally over, and part 1 of the DLC is finally out! I go through the entirety of The Teal Mask in this video, just to show the story.
We start off with meeting Ms. Briar, a teacher from Blueberry Academy and a descendant of Heath, the explorer who traveled through Area Zero and wrote the Violet Book. She reveals to us some pages that are not redacted, revealing the disk Pokémon is Terapagos. With that reveal out of the way, we head over to the land of Kitakami. We battle one of the locals, Carmine, and handily defeat her before resting for the day.
On the first day, we are told of our objective, which is to find three signboards around the area, and we battle Kieran (24:52). After traveling a bit, I find the first one at (34:44), which contains part of the folk tale of the area. With that one found, I travel around a bit before finding the second signboard (50:51). With that, Kieran invites us up to the Dragon’s Den, where I experience an unfortunate crash (57:06) and have to restart the game (59:07), losing a bit of progress. I quickly find the second signboard once again (1:03:33) and head up to the Dreaded Den the proper way this time and battle Kieran once again (1:11:46). Afterward, I find out that Croco obtained the newly fixed Itemfinder Mark (1:16:01) and get ready for the festival.
Before we can go there, we have another battle with Carmine (1:20:04). After defeating her, we finally go to the festival and try out the new minigame, Ogre Oustin’ (1:31:44), which is pretty simple to go through. The reward for completing it is the useful Exp. Charm, which increases the amount of Exp. Points your team can get, then we finally continue with the story by meeting the Ogre (1:38:05) and rest for the day.
On the next day, we go to see Carmine and Kieran’s grandfather, who tells us the true story of the Ogre (1:46:30). Afterward, we find the third and final signboard (2:03:33) and have another battle with Kieran (2:03:55). I find the Unremarkable Teacup (2:08:54) before heading back to the center for the night.
On the third day, we meet up with Carmine and her grandfather again (2:12:15) who tells us we need to get a Crystal Cluster from the Crystal Pool. Upon reaching there, we have to take on a Milotic in a double battle (2:19:35) which is pretty easy thanks to Carmine’s Morpeko. Briar mysteriously arrived at the pool before we head back to Carmine’s house, where her grandfather reveals that Kieran stole the mask. After battling him once again (2:27:18), he returns the mask, then the Loyal Three are seemingly revived (2:31:11) and they track down Ogrepon (2:37:28) and steal its masks. We battle Munkidori (2:38:08) and the three of them flee.
With that, Ogrepon starts to follow us around as we track down the three Pokémon by following clues from the town. We also meet Perrin (2:47:43), who is Adaman’s (from Pokémon Legends Arceus) descendant, who asks us to meet her after we register 150 Pokémon in the Kitakami Pokédex. After obtaining the three clues, we find the three of them in a Titan form. Munkidori is at Wisteria Pond (2:54:02), Okidogi is at the Paradise Barrens (3:04:11) and Fezandipiti is at the Fellhorn Gorge after it travels through the cave system (3:13:10). After retrieving the masks from them, we return to the town (3:18:58) where it turns out that Kieran told everyone the truth of the story, and they welcome Ogrepon. The last thing to do is to escort Ogrepon back to its home in the Dreaded Den (3:20:43). We battle Kieran one last time (3:25:00) since he wants to keep Ogrepon for himself, then we take on Ogrepon in its four different tera forms (3:31:11). After defeating it, I catch it in a Premier Ball (3:38:33), and we rest for the day.
On the final day, I battle Carmine one final time (3:43:53) and head back to the community center (3:50:21), closing out this DLC as Briar reveals that she has to head back to Blueberry Academy with Carmine and Kieran early. After a weird ending with Kieran (3:54:10), the DLC comes to an end, and we are given free rein to travel Kitakami. On the next part, I will be transferring my Living Dex into the game so we can start easily filling out the Kitakami Pokédex.
