Here is a revised version of a pre-existing deck of mine, this time with cards from Paldean Wonders. (I will also showcase some updated decks on TCG Live.) This is a set presumably made in response to rotation happening in the regular TCG, freeing up not just Supporter cards for Arven and the like, but similar concepts from said sets (like a Baxcalibur that accelerates Water Energy) and their illustrations too. For instance, this one uses Orthworm from that set, which uses the illustration from Paradox Rift.

Forget Dialga ex, Orthworm has turned up in Paldean Wonders as a Metal Energy accelerator. It works on one Metal Energy and is worth one point, though it does have a hefty Retreat Cost of 3. As a Stage 2, Tinkaton ex doesn’t really need to put 2 Energy on at once as Dialga ex can do with Metallic Turbo. At 2-Diamond rarity, it is also a lot easier to get ahold of two of them than the 4-Diamond rarity Dialga ex.
Hence, to get Orthworm out of the Active Spot, I have Lyra in this deck: once Orthworm takes damage, it can switch out. (I don’t know why TCG Pocket makes switching out so difficult.) This is at the cost of getting to use Will and guaranteeing 160 damage with Terrific Thumping though.
As a reminder, Tinkaton ex’s attack, Terrific Thumping, does 80 damage, then 80 more if you flip heads. Will guarantees your next coin flip for the turn will be heads. You just have to make sure no coin flips happen until that attack. (Or Tinkaton ex is afflicted by something that requires heads to attack, like Confusion or Crimson Blaze Magnezone’s Mirror Shot.)
Orthworm’s intended Metal Energy recipient is more likely supposed to be Gholdengo ex, which is what my opponent used. I was ultimately unable to draw Will, though I was lucky enough to not need his help. You pile Metal Energy onto Gholdengo ex, and it gathers all your points for you with Spending Rush. My opponent decided instead to go with Galarian Perrserker, whose Ability, “Dig Up,” gets Pokémon Tools out from the discard pile. Presumably, they wanted to keep reusing Metal Core Barrier to keep Gholdengo ex out and reuse its strong attacks without worrying about losing its Energy in the process, though it won’t work if the match is over too soon.
