Unusually for a team introduced so late into a generation, this was a team dating back to Sword and Shield. This was, in fact, going to be the last team I made for Sword and Shield, but it was canned when Pokémon available in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Legends: Arceus would not be compatible with Sword and Shield. This is why most of the Pokémon on this team have Origin Marks from other games. I waited for confirmation that all six Pokémon would be available in Scarlet and Violet, and as of Indigo Disk, 5 of them were. The sixth Pokémon, Slurpuff, was then swapped out with Illumise.
The team’s origins in Sword and Shield is also why there are no Generation IX Pokémon on this team. (The Hitmonchan Team would also lack any, but by coincidence.)

You will see that most of the Original Trainers for this team are Jericho (my player character in Shield) and Caren (my player character in Shining Pearl), and this is because this is a team stored in Pokémon HOME waiting for an update for Sword and Shield to allow in Pokémon from other Generation VIII teams that never happened. When 5 were confirmed, I eventually decided to just put them into Scarlet and Violet anyway. Of the five of them, their movesets were largely unchanged from when they were planned for Sword and Shield, though they did see some changes afterwards (not a lot though).
By the time this team was fully assembled (including Illumise), Scald as a TM was already available, allowing me to use the very same move set for Lanturn as I did in Sword and Shield. The Choice Specs is key, allowing this Lanturn to hit far harder than anyone expects. Volt Absorb also kicks in far more often than Zebstrika’s Volt Absorb, namely when I’m up against Miraidon, allowing me to get the drop on it and strike back with a super-effective Dazzling Gleam.
Because Slurpuff is not available in Scarlet and Violet, I had to quickly find a substitute. There wasn’t going to be anything close enough to Sturpuff for a direct substitute, and instead, I had to rethink from the ground up who would be in that slot. I settled for Illumise, the team not having a dedicated Prankster support Pokémon. While not used often, Illumise supplies vital Tailwind support and Speed control.
Chimecho has Dazzling Gleam to fight Dark-types who otherwise would take no damage from Stored Power. Otherwise, once Cosmic Power has been charged enough, even doubly not-very-effective Stored Power attacks will wear down the opponents faster than they could wear down Chimecho. Tera Normal is to help deal with said Dark Pokémon, but also Ghost-types who can get a lot of early damage in. I just need to keep Chimecho away from Pokémon that specialize in critical hits, although rarely seen; and Shadow Rider Calyrex, who turns up a lot more and can easily KO Chimecho even after a Terastallization allows me to get a Cosmic Power in.
And yes, I did pick Regidrago at the Split Decision Ruins in the Crown Tundra area. This Regidrago is the very same one I caught over there. That does mean that I do not have Regieleki in my Pokémon HOME collection though. There has yet to be a second opportunity to get the Galar-native Legendary Golems, the way they gave out a shiny Enamorus through HOME.
