Well, it has been confirmed that Pokémon Champions comes out April 8th, and so I will have exactly enough ime to put these videos out, one per day, until its release. Hence, my farewell tour of the Scarlet and Violet teams will begin here. The videos will contain some additional information on these teams, including what I’ve concealed in them up to this point. There will be one such video for each of my 10 teams, in chronological order of when they debuted, along with one last battle with no edits, both in Team Preview and the battle itself, so you can see how these teams are really like. I will strive to use the headliner Pokémon for each team.
To contrast how I began with a double battling team in Pokémon Sword and Shield, I began with a single battling team for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Since I didn’t cover Generation IX at all in any of my previous teams, for obvious reasons, this team would have a high concentration of them, comprising 4 out of 6 Pokémon in this team.

I wanted to have a Pokémon headline this team that you don’t normally see, and Lokix felt very novel at the time, and with some pretty low and forgettable stats, so I chose it to debut Pokémon Scarlet and Violet battle videos. The Pokémon would then become popilar, albeit briefly, for strategies based around First Impression, so I did something else based on people expecting it. That being said, I did correctly guess that none of the other five would see much competitive use at all, if any, although Dudunsparce did have some talk at first and how much it improved over regular Dunsparce.
Since my resources began low (as is normally the case with a Pokémon game), this team took the longest to make out of all of the Scarlet and Violet teams. Three days went solely into hatching Dunsparce eggs until I could confirm one was a Three-Segmented Dudunsparce. (A little detail people might not have noticed: Larry’s Dudunsparce is Two-Segmented, reflecting his everyday, nothing-special aspect of him, while Nemona’s Dudunsparce is Three-Segmented, reflecting her exceptional skills.)
I saw Toedscruel as a Gholdengo counter: can hit Gholdengo for super-effective damage, has a high Sp. Defense to withstand attacks from it, and Mycelium Might makes it one of the few Pokémon able to put Gholdengo to Sleep (Sneasler is another example).
This team changed relatively little, compared to the Sword and Shield teams, from when it began. The moves on Kilowattrel, Copperajah, and Toedscruel remain the same as they were when the team began, for instance, and the only change to Vaporeon’s set was changing Surf to Scald shortly after the TM became available. U-Turn on Lokix used to be Skitter Smack; I wanted a way to reduce physical Attack (through Lunge) and Sp. Defense (through Skitter Smack), but Skitter Smack’s pwoer was low enough that opponents were still overpowering Lokix through the Sp. Defense drops, so I changed it to U-Turn to put the focus on dropping physical Attack and have him skedaddle against a special attacker instead.
