Untied world record by 20 points, beating the previous world record of 4,570 held by myself and 4 other players! This uses the new shot style that allows for higher scores, but is absurdly difficult, grindy, and precise to get even a decent score of. Proud of this one!

This is now my third time improving the TAS record. Its possible that the score could still go higher, but most likely not by much if at all. As RNG affects the end result, I made a simple bot with Lua to repeat perfect inputs for each controller with different RNG values and had it run for over 17K games. Eventually, I got this result.
RNG constantly updates in Mario Party 2, so you can change the result by either waiting in the pre-game menu, or pause and unpause during gameplay. From my testing, it seems that the character who would win in the case of a tie is determined once the game starts, but the actual distance they get can still be affected by RNG until close to the end of the race. I also believe the reason for variance in distance has to do with the animation of the Fly Guy as you seem to be able to get more distance if the stall at the end occurs when its at peak height.
If a better score is possible, it would require even more brute forcing of RNG seeds, or otherwise disassembling the game to deeply understand the mechanics and how to manipulate them. [TAS] Mario Party 2 - Mecha-Marathon - 53.58 Yards](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/gM-N5Ai0H58/mqdefault.jpg)

On Defection with diving into the ending while out of bounds, you can either land in the lift to complete the level, or miss it and die. This TAS does both and gets an instant skip of the ending cutscene. [TAS] Defection - Agent - Death after Completion](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/j8z2f3dIKa8/mqdefault.jpg)

For the most part, this minigame is just mashing A as fast as you can. Steering is an interesting mechanic however, as you dont lose any speed when steering along flat sections, but you can lose some on the turns, both by steering in the wrong or right direction. Because of this, steering should be minimized, although there are only small sections of each turn that can cost time. Some of the turns also dont need any steering as there is no risk of falling off. I used the second team to demonstrate this by excessively steering the entire time.
Braking can also be used instead of steering, and allows you to use less of it, but this is overall slower. Braking is not necessary at all.
Unless I missed an important mechanic or nuance of this minigame, I believe this time is maxed out, beating the non-TAS WR by 4 frames. [TAS] Mario Party 1 - Handcar Havoc - 34.06](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/kPebsxBV7Vw/mqdefault.jpg)
