Way less time than I anticipated, which I guess is partly due to having done map 3 before this, as well as speedrunning maps 1 and 3. I got to the blocks section at about 8 hours in (after first trying the section after the plums), which I consider really good. Was also good to have fluked the very last bit (after the last chimney bit). I guess you could say the difficulty is a bit overrated but I kinda knew exactly how to approach each section from videos I had seen. Only really hard when you have no idea where to go or how to land a jump. I wanted to leave in my reaction, but my microphone is a bit broken so it didn't pick up what I said, instead just static.

I thought surely if I could get a 6 and a half minute boots + ring time, then I could easily cut my ring time by a lot. Before this run, I got a 6:08 but knew I could do better. I knew that it was gonna be tough to beat second place as I entered the tower, but I managed to pull through and beat it by 0.2 seconds.
The WR seems incredibly tough to beat, considering you gotta the 2nd wind skip but without a consistent setup. And I lost some time in frontier causing me to lose another cycle. I would then have to save another cycle or two from other skips and have a clean endgame. But none of this is going to happen, I dont know why Im writing this.

Pink screen at the end = cringe
Added a few more skips and lost like 2-3 seconds from mistakes. Im sure if someone grinded enough, a 2:1X could be very close to being possible, but it would be insanely hard to pull off.

Les goooo. I thought for sure when I didnt land on the top step, that I wasnt going to be able to get the WR, but I went fast enough and a small optimisation at 2:42 (doing a full right to land further left) helped. Obviously, this isnt perfect and I didnt do one of Heppys strats because it is much harder. My best before this was a 2:48.028 so I didnt just fluke this from my 2:50.

Back in the top 10 with a banger run!
Surprisingly no mistakes on pace past Sanctum, with the early game making up for it in all sorts of embarrassing ways. Most notably trying to optimise the transition into the second last screen of Castle and miserably underjumping it like 20 times and also bonking on the ceiling with the full left after entering the first house in Underburg (many many times).
This run is exactly what I was looking for time-wise, though there are a couple of unideal moments, especially the hesitation in Sanctum and not hitting the fully optimised short jump in Blue Ruin (aiming for the top of the stairs). I can only really imagine going for a sub 5:45 before it would personally feel impossible for me to PB further, so that would be the final goal.
Now I shall be attempting something rather crazy.
