PLAY DEAD 'Sin Of Sins' live video. Play Dead were from Banbury, Oxfordshire. In the early eighties they gained a large following after touring with U.K. Decay, Sex Gang Children and Killing Joke before headlining many of their own tours in the UK and throughout Europe, and appearing on ‘The Tube’ TV programme.
The band's debut album was 'The First Flower' (Jungle) in 1983, followed by 'From The Promised Land' (Clay) in 1984, and their final album 'Company of Justice' on their own Tanz label in 1985. A couple of live albums, EPs and a singles compilation also documented their career, as well as the live VHS video 'Into The Fire' from which this clip is taken (live in Oxford, 23rd May 1985).
Now in 2023 a series of reissues are planned. Firstly an anthology on vinyl (10 tracks) and CD (16 tracks), 'The Collection'. Released March 3 2023. Info and buylinks: -
