[Complex] How to fold a Pixelated Pyramid from a single square of paper. At over 2-hours long, this is the longest tutorial on my channel, partly because I opted for no fast-forwarding (except in the intro), but also because it is a very challenging model to fold and to teach.
I recommend using paper that is at least 10 inches square. I used kami, but larger more durable paper, like Zander's Elephant Hide paper would probably work better.
The idea to design this model came from member Alaina who requested it during the July 2024 Western Hemisphere Members Livestream. During the livestream, I managed to fold the top five cubes. Afterwards, after many tries I managed expand the pattern to the full pyramid. To my utter surprise, the pixelated pyramid pattern was collapsible. This gives me the hint that the pattern could somehow be incorporated into a flasher, but I haven't figured that out yet.
I recommend folding this model as shown in the video, but it might be helpful to look at the crease pattern which you can download here:
