To watch the original full-length Cubical Star Box tutorial click here: youtu.be/ddfXUi8YBAA [Rather Simple] This is an origami #short showing how to fold a square of paper into a Transforming Cubical Star Box Container whose sides fold inward and interlock giving you closed box that is still a star shape. If you inflate the closed star box the center of the bottom of the box will bulge out slightly making a single point on which the box will spin if you blow straight downward onto it's middle. So you have 3 models in one! At the end of the video I show a bonus fourth transformation which is a crane on a box that opens when you pull apart its wings, so it's a star-shaped paper dish that transforms into an origami crane box!
I designed this transforming model, and couldn't find any pictures of it on the Internet, but it's simple enough that I wouldn't be surprised if someone has already designed it. If you see that that is the case, please notify me in the comments below and I will properly give credit of prior independent discovery if appropriate.
I hope you find this is a perfect diy craft box to house precious gifts and treasures. The other nice thing about this paper box is that it can collapse flat when not in use, and then when you need a gift box simply re-deploy the paper gift box and fill it with treasure!
