How to fold a Geometry Dash Cube using pure origami. This is a model that my student Alex requested we try to design during his origami tutoring session with me. I mostly led the way as he folded along and we managed to complete the model and film and intro all within one 30-minute Zoom session.
This face is part of the first Geometry Dash Icon menu on the original Geometry Dash video game and is used in the Geometry Dash Logo. Interestingly, this cube face is fondly refered to by users as a "cube icon" even though in Geometry Dash it's only really shown as a square. So this the real Geometry Dash Cube Icon!
Strangely, even though this icon is used as the logo for Geometry Dash, I couldn't find any decent YouTube videos featuring this icon. So I ended up purchasing the game and actually learning to play it myself. I spent about 20 minutes playing Geometry Dash and recorded all 122 of my games. I superimposed my origami Geometry Dash Cube over the the "cube icon" onto my last game, which was a tedious undertaking that took several hours to complete, but I like how it came out.
As part of making this video I actually installed and played Geometry Dash for the first time. I had a lot of fun playing it, and, as you can see, I even managed to unlock the best icon ever!😉
