Pitbull Attacks Coyote: Understanding the Encounter
A pitbull attacking a coyote is not an uncommon scenario in rural and suburban areas where both animals may cross paths. Pitbulls, known for their strength and tenacity, are powerful dogs that can effectively defend themselves and their territory. Coyotes, on the other hand, are wild animals that tend to avoid direct confrontation with larger dogs but can become aggressive if they feel threatened or cornered.
Strength and Fighting Ability
Pitbulls are muscular, strong dogs, typically weighing between 35 to 60 pounds, giving them a significant size advantage over most coyotes, which usually weigh between 20 to 50 pounds. With a powerful bite force of around 235 PSI, pitbulls are capable of inflicting serious damage during an attack. Their fighting instinct, originally bred for hunting and protection, makes them formidable opponents in a confrontation with a coyote.
Coyotes, although smaller, are highly agile and strategic in their movements. They rely on speed and evasion rather than brute strength. However, a pitbull’s determination and strength usually give it the upper hand in a direct fight, especially if it locks its powerful jaws onto the coyote.
Why Do Pitbulls Attack Coyotes?
Pitbulls are naturally protective of their territory and family, and when a coyote comes too close, a pitbull may see it as a threat. Coyotes may also wander into yards in search of food, potentially provoking a protective response from the pitbull. While coyotes typically avoid larger dogs, a hungry or desperate coyote might engage with a pitbull if it feels threatened.
Conclusion
A pitbull attacking a coyote is likely to result in the pitbull overpowering the coyote due to its strength and fighting instincts. However, owners should take precautions to prevent such encounters, as they can result in injury to both animals and carry potential health risks like rabies.

![Bear Attacks Goat Herd and Dogs in Turkey!!!
Bear attacks goat and dogs in Turkey.
Our video today is about a bear attacking goat herd and in a second video attacking few dogs in Turkey.
The brown bear is the largest carnivore in Turkey and has been legally protected since 2003.
However, increasing levels of conflict between brown bears and humans have been reported for several regions, especially for Arvin in north-eastern Turkey.
Still several bears get shot and killed apparently as a consequence of damage experienced by farmers.
A rise in their number and a change in their hibernation habits make bears more dangerous to humans in the eastern Black Sea region.
Descending to residential areas from mountains in search of food, bears raise concerns for locals.
Researchers surveying the mountainous eastern Black Sea region discovered a 10 percent increase in wildlife.
From bears to mountain goats, foxes and boars, shedding light on increasing bear attacks on humans and livestock.
The lack of snowfall in recent years is causing bears to skip hibernation and this is getting very problematic for the farmers .
In countries like Slovenia, they have allowed the killing of wolves and bears.
As many as 130 brown bears were killed in Slovenia until August 11, 2021.
The Ministry of the Environment said they allowed this to limit the damage they do to crops and livestock and prevent numbers of growing.
However, the changes in the climate and ever growing human population both are effecting wildlife.
More we humans are occupying their space , more are the conflicts.
Wildlife populations have fallen by more than two-thirds in less than 50 years, according to a major report by the conservation group WWF.
This is why farmers keep dogs to fend off predators like bear, wolves , foxes etc.
When confronted by dogs, most bears dont like to fight and retreat easily.
They are only there cause they are hungry and they are seeking food.
A dogs barking irritates them and it makes it difficult for them to concentrate on their food-gathering mission.
Most will retreat and seek food in areas which are less noisy and which require less effort.
however, a bear who is really hungry and is fully determined to get the food, no amount of dogs will going to matter.
As the smallest bear is twice as heavy as the largest breeds of dog.
They also have sharp claws and they can gut a dog with just a simple swipe.
Most dogs if attacked by a bear will retreat unless they are fully trained for hunting down and fighting bears.
Not all dog breeds will have enough courage to stand in front of an attacking bear.

![Man saves a Kangal from German Shepherd!!!
#kangal #GermanShepherd #KangalvsGSD
Our video today is about a man protecting a Kangal mix from a German Shepherd. The Kangal is both larger in size and has the highest Bite Force of any Dog which is 743 per square inch as compared to a German Shepherd whose bite force is 235 per square inch. However, the bite force of Kangal has never been measured officially from a known Platform yet , so we dont know if they really have a bite force of 743 psi or not. Kangals have a distinct size advantage if nothing else over German Shepherd dogs.
And their biting force is also incomparable to that of a German Shepherd, even if its not 743 psi. So, there is actually no comparison between the two breeds when it comes to power or fight. The particular dogs shown in these videos may have some traits of Kangals but they definitely arent pure bred.
The dog in this particular clip is pure bred Kangal and you can tell the difference between size, body frame and stance of this beautiful dog. Its way larger and broader than a German Shepherd.
Having said that it doesnt mean German Shepherds are tiny dogs. German Shepherds are medium to large sized dogs. The breed standard height at the withers is 60 to 65 cm for males, and 55 to 60 cm for females. But some of them can grow even larger in size. German Shepherds are working dogs, and they were developed originally for herding and guarding sheep. So they were bred for same purpose as a Kangal was bred for. The only difference is that German Shepherds were there to fend off small animals such as foxes, jackals , cats etc.
They may be able to fend off larger predators such as wolves , bears , wild boars, etc if they were raised in such environment and they have a larger pack. Three to four German Shepherds wont be able to fend off or stop larger predators. On the other hand 3 to 4 Kangals may be able to fend off a larger predator as they have size, endurance, speed and bite force advantage. German shepherds are well known for being intelligent, loyal and at times protective. Theyre also brave and alert. This all makes them the ideal guard dog.
A well bred GSD does not need special training to be a good guard dog for its own home and family, as they are naturally protective of those they regard as their family, and the property they inhabit. They all have different personalities .
Some are very aggressive towards any body, some are very laid back and friendly but they all are protective if they have to be. They were herding dogs and that trait stays in their blood lines.
Coming back to our video of the day. German Shepherd saw a stray Kangal mix passing by the property that it was protecting. The guarding instincts of GSD kicked in and it attacked the Kangal mix. The Kangal mix went into submissive position within no time but German Shepherd was not letting it go. Luckily the owner of GSD was at the farm at that time and he was able to rescue Kangal mix from his GSD. Please note that we make these videos for information purposes only. They arent meant to degrade any of the dog breeds. All dog breeds were bred for a purpose and we should always take that into consideration. For example no one can expect a retriever to be a great guard dog, cause it wasnt meant to be.
So every dog is good for the purpose they were bred for and this kind of limit their effectiveness in certain areas. However, training and environment also plays and important role and two dogs from same breed can be totally different in nature.
