Got to see some pit stop practice earlier this week at Hendrick Motorsports as the over the wall crews for the Spire Motorsports 7 and 77 cars got their reps in.
Hendrick Motorsports has 8 Cup Series pit crews that service the 5, 9, 24, and 48 Hendrick Motorsports cars, the 7, 71, 77 Spire Motorsports cars and the 47 Hyak Motorsports car.
Sometimes they will move members of the pit crews between those cars to find the optimal grouping of people.
The jackman of the 7 car was on the 24 car until recently.
The front tire changer in this video on the 77 crew is Skip Flores who is filling in for the injured Alaka’i Gilman who is the usual front changer on the 77.
Flores came to the Hendrck Motorsports in 2026 after spending years with Penske, most recently on the 38 car of Zane Smith and prior to that, he was the the front changer on the 12 car of Ryan Blaney.
Flores is also a racer himself, running occasionaly at Bowman Gray and just Friday night getting the win in his first start in the Carolina Crate Modified Series at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, VA.
