We went for a mountain climb, on a mountain just behind Pippin Lake in Alaska on the edge of the Chugach Range . I'm pretty sure it's a mountain and not a hill, because almost everything up here is a mountain - big or small.
We climbed / scrambled up the side of the mountain, only to find an ATV trail at the top which we followed back down. This trail connected with the power-line trail below and is across from the Trans Alaska Pipeline which you see in this video.
A Pipeline use permit is highly encouraged since getting to this mountain follows along the pipeline access road on the backside of Pippin Lake.
Pippin lake is located along Mile 82 of the Richardson Highway and is stocked with Rainbow Trout.
If you are interested in staying on the lake there are a couple Bed & Breakfast accommodations available right on the water.
