The Tonsina River Trail is an easy 2 miles round trip to the bluffs overlooking the Tonsina River below as well as the Chugach Mountain Range.

The trail is located at Mile 12.3 near Kenny Lake, Alaska on the Edgerton Highway, look on the Right (West) side if heading towards Chitina, Alaska.

We hiked this trail June 23rd, 2020 and the Mosquitoes were absolutely viscous! With lots of rain in the area there was mud and water on the trail which provided perfect conditions for swarms of mosquitoes to ambush anyone who dared walk the trail.

The end of the trail is really nice, with great views and definitely worth the short amount of time it takes.
Be Bear & Mosquito Aware in this area, and carry Mosquito Spray!
