About two and a half years ago, I filmed a pileated woodpecker destroying what was left of my 12 year old hemlock bench (youtube.com/watch?v=8UqKoLBM90s). Today he (or she) is destroying one of my trees. In fairness, since they are looking for insects, the tree is probably already in bad shape. I shot this through a window and some brush, so it is a bit rough.
