This week, with the help of a country feller in a western shirt, we learn how to play the phrygian scale on the bass guitar. This video covers the two basic shapes I use for a one octave phrygian scale. I talk a little music theory about the sound and use of phrygian, and then we'll rock a metal-y riff together that blends the phrygian mode with open string shredding.
