Philippine Coast Guard Assets 2020
Through PCG Admiral Joel Garcia’s initiative to increase the PCG’s budget to more than 100%, the agency was able to procure the following assets:
Personal watercraft,
Aluminum boats,
Rubber boats,
7-meter RHIBS donated by JAPAN in 2018,
RHIBS with an outboard motor,
12-meter high-speed boats donated by Japan,
11.5-meter special purpose crafts,
Portable X-ray detector,
10 units of 44-meter Multi-role response vessels,
15-meter high-speed boats,
4 units of 24-meter fast patrol boats from OCEA,
Defiant Metal Shark Boats,
83-meter offshore patrol vessel from France,
2 units of Airbus H145 rescue helicopter,
fully equipped ambulances,
PCG Buses,
PCG Boom trucks,
PCG Staff vehicles,
Multi-purpose vans,
C-35 6x6 Trucks,
With its vital role in anti-terrorism, anti-illegal drugs and anti-smuggling, it was imperative for the PCG to upgrade its law enforcement capability by arming its people with the following weapons:
1,194 units of 9 mm submachine guns,
350 units of 7.62 light machine guns combat package,
4,357 units of 5.56 mm assault rifles,
7,743 units of 9mm pistols,
48 units of Caliber 7.62x51 mm sniper rifles,
Likewise, the PCG’s leadership recognized the crucial role of information and communication in the field and ordered the following upgrades;
VHS base radios,
Automatic identification system,
High-Frequency Communication Radios,
Hand-held Radios,
and VHF Marine Band Hand-held Radios,
The Philippine Coast Guard continues to modernize and upgrade its capabilities to keep up with the continuing increase of its mission requirements.
