Young Nino is chasing dreams with his crew. Hustling, partying and fighting to stay hopeful in a world that’s losing its light.
Gritty, raw, and pulsing with life, “Nino in Paradise” is adapted from the acclaimed novel by Capucine and Simon Johannin. Director Laurent Micheli brings the story to the screen with urgency and emotional depth, supported by cinematographer Florian Berutti and editor Léo Parmentier.
Micheli first made waves with “Even Lovers Get the Blues” (2016), a bold portrait of love and sexuality that earned him a Magritte Award nomination. His next film, “Lola vers la mer” (2019), won international acclaim and over 20 awards, including two Magritte Awards and a César nomination.
Now a director, screenwriter and actor, Micheli began his career in theatre across Belgium and France before turning to filmmaking. His work is known for its sincerity, emotional intensity, and fearless look at identity and youth.

Karm, toores ja elujõust pulbitsev “Nino paradiisis” põhineb Capucine’i ja Simon Johannini tunnustatud romaanil. Režissöör Laurent Micheli toob loo ekraanile kiireloomulisuse ja emotsionaalse sügavusega, teda toetavad operaator Florian Berutti ja monteerija Léo Parmentier.
Micheli pälvis tähelepanu juba oma debüütfilmiga “Even Lovers Get the Blues” (2016), julgelt ja ausalt armastust ning seksuaalsust kujutava teosega, mis tõi talle Magritte’i nominatsiooni.
