Cecilia’s debut film “A Safe Place” is a powerful and deeply cinematic and empowering piece at this year’s PÖFF. Previously, Cecilia co-wrote the screenplay for “Libertate”, which earned an award from Romania’s most prestigious screenwriting competition. She also wrote the book that later inspired Tudor Giurgiu’s “Lovesick”, for which she additionally contributed to the script.
With “A Safe Place,” Cecilia dives into the complexities of womanhood, telling an intense and vital story about the experiences of Eastern European women. In our interview, she reveals that the film is, in many ways, also a political statement.

Varasemalt on Cecilia olnud kaasstsenarist filmile “Libertate”, mis pälvis Rumeenia mainekaima stsenaariumikonkursi auhinna. Samuti kirjutas ta raamatu, millest hiljem sai inspiratsiooni Tudor Giurgiu film “Lovesick”, mille stsenaariumisse ta samuti oma panuse andis.
Filmis “A Safe Place” sukeldub Cecilia naiselikkuse keerukusse, jutustades intensiivse ja olulise loo Ida-Euroopa naiste kogemustest. Meie intervjuus avaldab ta, et film on mitmes mõttes ka poliitilise seisukoha võtmine.
