Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival brings you "Meet the Filmmakers" episode “One Day I Wish To See You Happy”. Interview with the director Maryna Nikolcheva, interviewer Marianna Kaat.

Ukrainian documentary filmmaker Maryna Nikolcheva presents an intimate and honest portrait of life under war. What began as personal footage of her husband Max — a filmmaker in creative crisis — gradually evolved, after the full-scale invasion, into a moving story of resilience, love, and daily life in Kyiv. "One Day I Wish To See You Happy" captures how people hold onto hope and closeness amid the turmoil, offering a deeply human look at how war reshapes ordinary lives.
We are delighted to welcome the world premiere of the film at this year’s PÖFF, in the Doc@PÖFF international competition program.

Mis algselt oli perearhiivina filmitud lugu tema abikaasast Maxist – loomekriisis filmitegijast – muutus täiemahulise sõja alguses looks vastupidavusest, armastusest ja igapäevaelust Kiievis. „Ühel päeval tahan ma sind näha õnnelikuna” näitab, kuidas inimesed püüavad keset sõda säilitada lootust ja lähedust.
PÖFFil on tänavu au võõrustada filmi maailma esilinastust Doc@PÖFFi rahvusvahelises võistlusprogrammi raames.
