Peter Allen, Rex Smith are guests on "THE RAES" CBC Vancouver 1979 TV series with cast regulars Jackson Davies and Jeff Hyslop & the Dancers. Peter Allen was an Australian singer/songwriter/performer (died 1992) whose life was portrayed in the Broadway musical "The Boy from Oz," which earned Hugh Jackman as Allen a Tony Award in 1994. Actor/singer Rex Smith was a 1970s teen idol, debuting in 1978 on Broadway in 'Grease," and on TV in 1985 in "Street Hawk." Jackson Davies is best known as Constable Constable in the CBC TV series "The Beachcombers" (1972-91). Jeff Hyslop is a musical theatre actor, singer, dancer, choreographer and director. He played the title role in the Canadian touring company of "The Phantom of the Opera." Robbie & Cherrill Rae were a Welsh-Canadian husband & wife singing duo with several disco hits. On their series they and guests were backed by the Tommy Banks Orchestra. The duo turned down an offer of a 5 year contract with CBC in spite of good ratings and positive critics' reviews..
