I really wanted to wait until all the week 7 songs were out before taking this one on so I could get a good sense of how the vibe would be in the game and Im really glad I did. It was awesome getting to see Girlfriend doing more than just her usual vibe and bop. Adriana would have been in this video again reprising her role with her hands in the air, but she just got her vaccine and had a sore arm. She instead still offered to film this one so shes still a big part of what made this video awesome!
I knew I wanted Jack to come back to play the part of Tank Man for this so I ordered a helmet for him. Despite him not being able to hear anything at all during filming, he did an amazing job and really helped bring this song to a new light with me. We tried some different stuff this time around including a clean section with influences from Holdsworth, Polyphia, and Chon. Was really cool because this song is a perfect example of what I love to work with when it comes to VGM!
This is a beloved song in the YouTube space right now so I really hope you guys enjoy what I did with it! Happy funkin!

I dont know why I needed to wait until now to have an excuse to play more Anamanaguchi music. To those that dont know, my favorite album of all time is Endless Fantasy by Anamanaguchi, who composed for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World The Game. So when Scott Pilgrim was rereleased, I couldnt wait for any better time to do some more. There isnt a single song off this soundtrack that I wouldnt cover, but with all of the hype of this game, the main theme was the one that got stuck in my head the most.
Ever since finishing up Unseen Ones from last week, Ive been in a deep battle with myself to readjust my sleep schedule to change things up. Ive always been a night person and especially during this pandemic and strange time over all, I found it very easy to slip into sleeping most of the day. This week I wanted to take it easy with a song that wasnt nearly as technically difficult to cover so that I could find a good balance between focusing on myself and still working on content I love, so even though this wont be my ambitiously longest or most technically impressive cover, know that its still out of deep respect for the game, its composer, and, well, myself I guess. Thank you so much for listening!
And PLAY THIS GAME! I have never been a fan of side scroller beat-em-ups but this game is so good that its an exception. Rock on!
