I dont know why I needed to wait until now to have an excuse to play more Anamanaguchi music. To those that dont know, my favorite album of all time is Endless Fantasy by Anamanaguchi, who composed for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World The Game. So when Scott Pilgrim was rereleased, I couldnt wait for any better time to do some more. There isnt a single song off this soundtrack that I wouldnt cover, but with all of the hype of this game, the main theme was the one that got stuck in my head the most.
Ever since finishing up Unseen Ones from last week, Ive been in a deep battle with myself to readjust my sleep schedule to change things up. Ive always been a night person and especially during this pandemic and strange time over all, I found it very easy to slip into sleeping most of the day. This week I wanted to take it easy with a song that wasnt nearly as technically difficult to cover so that I could find a good balance between focusing on myself and still working on content I love, so even though this wont be my ambitiously longest or most technically impressive cover, know that its still out of deep respect for the game, its composer, and, well, myself I guess. Thank you so much for listening!
And PLAY THIS GAME! I have never been a fan of side scroller beat-em-ups but this game is so good that its an exception. Rock on!

Its been a while since Ive done a Patreon request and I was more than happy to take this one on since Ive been playing Nier: Replicant a good amount since it came out. I actually was also inspired by FalKKonEs cover of this song after hearing it on my Spotify discover weekly playlist and it was instantly stuck in my head and I had my own ideas of how to take it on. It actually came as a later arrangement idea to play the first half on classical guitar, the original idea being a lead guitar choral thing like I did for my last Rise of Nations cover. I think it was nice to break out the classical guitar again.
I did the filming for this video myself, similiar to how I did God of the Dead from Hades. Its so cool getting to have the human element of handicam for these videos, but its tough getting that for each week, so I may be moving toward this method in the future while trying to find ways of achieveing the music video style in a way I can just do solo. I hope it was still engaging and fun to watch! This was a monumental arrangement so I really do hope you enjoy listening.
It was my birthday last Friday! This is my first guitar cover as a 30 year old boychild. Ill tell you what, I did NOT expect to still be doing this into my 30s when I started at the age of 19. Someone buy me a video game themed coffin as Im one step in the grave now. ☠
