For DITTRICH & SCHLECHTRIEM, MONA filmed Soufiane Ababri’s performance that took place at the Berlin gallery on November 11th, 2022 in the frame of the artist’s solo exhibition titled ‘NON MERCI !!!.’

Featuring Paolo Busti, Ahmed El Gendy, Casey Hess, and Mickey Mahar, the performance references Edmond Rostand’s 1897 play ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ and invokes the character’s refusal to participate in the bourgeois world or anything that exerts control over his freedom.
