Anthony Riley A.K.A. Sleeping Warrior did some experiments with some magnesium. Sleeping Warrior wants to be taken seriously, so let's do that and subject his experiment to peer review.

corrections: Where I use the ideal gas law, I originally used the formulation using the Gas constant but then decided on the other formulation using the Boltzmann constant. Unfortunately, I didn't update the script properly and as a result I made a mistake: N is not the number of moles, it is the number of molecules. However, the maths remains unaffected.

The equation I use in for the chemical reaction is incorrect. I had the 2 in the subscript for the oxygen which leads to an error in balancing the equation. It should read: 2Mg+O_2 →2MgO. Ironically, this is a result of doing one of the things that I always shout at students for: "Don't copy and paste shit, you will fuck it up"
