I occasionally get questions like "Bike doesn't move when I pedal", "Help my wheel doesn’t move when I move the pedals? What’s wrong?", "Pedaling won't move the tires" or "Pedals/chain/cassette turn but wheel doesn't" or many variations. Basically, the rear hub is not engaging when the rider is pedaling. Unfortunately there is not one easy answer. It depends on what kind of hub the bike has, and then there can be multiple causes. I go over the most common causes, and how to fix them.
